This evening event has two panel sessions:

Session One: 6.30pm
How Does Social Media Make for Better Journalism?
A Panel session chaired by BBC Bristol's Dave Harvey with Nic Newman, Controller of Journalism for BBC Future Media & Technology; Andy Parkhouse, Director of Team Rubber; Claire Wardle, Social Media Trainer at BBC College of Journalism and Stephen Chittenden, Journalist at BBC 5 Live and Tim

A wide ranging review and discussion covering the impact, opportunity, risks and challenges that social media tools like Twitter and Facebook bring to the reporting of news events.  How can they be integrated into the news output?  When will they tip off a journalist, and when will they trip one up?

Session Two: 8.00pm
Local Journalism - Serving Bristol Better
A Panel session chaired by Janet Jones, Principal Lecturer, Journalism, University of the West of England discusssing how the changing media landscape will influence the way that Bristol is served as a community.
